J Balvin Shares His One Complaint About Owning a Tesla Cybertruck

On March 3, a Tesla Cybertruck barreled into the sign outside the famed Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles, marking the second Cybertruck crash in the Los Angeles area in just 24 hours. The next day, TMZ caught up with Colombian reggaetón star J Balvin, who was driving around a Cybertruck himself.

When asked about the recent incident and some possible safety hazards in the vehicle, Balvin offered his own solutions and even some advice for Tesla CEO Elon Musk. In particular, he felt that because the electric vehicle is so quiet, there needs to be some auditory prompt for acceleration similar to a roaring engine in a traditional car.

“They should do something that makes it so you can listen to the speed a little bit,” he said. “They should put that.”

“It’s to have an extra sound because it’s not the same as the fuel [vehicles] where you can feel that the energy is right there,” he said.

The “Mi Gente” rapper then offered his idea to Elon Musk. “Elon, put some sound on the speed,” he urged. “The sound system is amazing but put some sound on the speed.”

After the Beverly Hills Hotel crash, Musk himself responded to photos of the incident and pointed out that it was probably user error that caused it. “[Cybertruck] is faster than a Porsche 911, but looks like a truck, so perhaps the valet wasn’t expecting so much acceleration,” he said on social media.

If you see a Cybertruck out on the road, it might be best to keep your distance.
