Rockstar Games officially announced another delay in the release of Grand Theft Auto VI, with a new release date set for Nov. 19, 2026. The news understandably was met with immense frustration from fans of the popular video game series, along with plenty of jokes about whether the game will ever actually be released. Following the widespread disappointment voiced by players, it’d make sense for Rockstar to offer something positive about GTA 6, and some players dug deep to find out what that could be.
After some digging, several fans noticed a noteworthy change that could signal Rockstar’s release of the third official GTA 6 trailer in the near future.
Speculation About Rockstar’s Move to Ramp Up Excitement for ‘GTA 6’ Again

To the credit of several followers of Rockstar’s official YouTube page, it was noted that, following the announcement that GTA 6 would be delayed, the creator’s total number of videos increased by exactly one. This sparked immediate speculation that the third official Grand Theft Auto VI trailer could be on the horizon—and it makes a lot of sense when considering several factors.
Rockstar just went from 395 to 396 videos.

The obvious starting point is that Rockstar isn’t likely to push out a video for another game or any other Grand Theft Auto content (such as GTA Online changes). Doing this days after delaying GTA 6 again would be a bold (and bad) move. However, the timeline for a third trailer dropping shortly also lines up.
- Rockstar released Grand Theft Auto VI’s first trailer roughly two years ago (Dec. 4, 2023).
- The second GTA 6 trailer was posted on YouTube six months ago (May 6, 2025).
- Rockstar rarely adds new videos to YouTube, with only three additions since the second trailer.
- With rumblings that GTA 6 is essentially complete, but the company wants to avoid bugs, now is an ideal time for a third trailer.
It’s hard to speculate that the new video (that’s not yet released) could be anything other than a new trailer. And if it does prove to be the third trailer for GTA 6, the question becomes whether that’ll be enough to ease the disappointment of players who’ve now waited over 12 years for the follow-up to Grand Theft Auto V.
Take-Two Interactive’s Stock Takes Hit After ‘GTA 6’ Delay
While the primary focus following another delay of Grand Theft Auto VI’s release is the significant player frustration, it’s apparent that the decision was also a negative for Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive. The company saw its stock take an immediate hit after the announcement.
On Thursday, Nov. 6, at around 3:00 p.m. ET, Take-Two Interactive’s stock sat at $254.74. From the time the announcement was made, almost an hour later (4:05 p.m. ET), the price dropped from $252.40 to $233.06 in less than 30 minutes.
The stock price of Take-Two Interactive dropped as low as $227.86 on Friday, Nov. 7. The price rebounded to around $232-$233 per share by the end of the day, but it’ll be interesting to see how it trades on Monday, Nov. 10.
