Why We Love This Deal

Hoka has gobbled up a significant portion of the running shoe market over the last decade or so. The brand is at the forefront of shifting trends in running, like maximal cushioning and lighterweight materials, and while trends—and even brands—come and go, Hoka has cemented itself as a long-term player. This also means that finding Hoka running shoes on sale is a rare occurrence, but it does happen occasionally. Right now, all eyes are on the discounted price of the Clifton 10.

The Hoka Clifton 10 is on sale for $124, a 20% discount—the typical markdown rate for Hoka shoes—from its normal price of $155. This is Hoka’s bestselling shoe, and it’s available at that price across a huge swath of colorways. You’ll find it at this price at both Hoka and Dick’s Sporting Goods, but we’re seeing a significant diminishing of available sizes as time goes on, which was to be expected. We think better colors can be found at Dick’s for the time being, but what’s good is that regardless of where you order from, you won’t have to worry about paying for shipping.

What Shoppers Should Know

The Clifton received a pretty thorough update for its 10th iteration. Before we even get to the shoe, let’s talk about how it was made: Based on athlete feedback, Hoka used an entirely new last to engineer this model. That results in an improved fit with a wider toe box, so your toes will have more room to splay and spread out within the shoe.

The updated sole features an Active Foot Frame design with a sculpted shape that cradles the rear half of your foot for a snug, stable feel. Hoka also used more midsole foam, creating a softer underfoot sensation than the Clifton 9. Those tweaks paid off: This shoe even earned the APMA Seal of Acceptance, which means it was tested and found to benefit foot health.

In addition to these key features, the shoe has a Meta-Rocker sole shape—meaning it curves upward at the heel and toe—to help you roll smoothly through your stride at any pace, running or walking. Overall, the Clifton 10 is a Goldilocks shoe that just feels good. It’s not overly cushioned, but not too firm, and it feels great whether you’re training for a marathon or just out running errands.
