On June 14, Outside will kick off the weeklong Outside Games, a new pre-Olympic virtual event that gives Outside+ members an opportunity to hear directly from Olympic athletes. The Games will also include fitness challenges inspired by Olympic athletes’ training regimens. The roster of VIPs includes first-time Olympians, like marathoner Aliphine Tuliamuk, and seasoned veterans, like road cycling’s reigning champion, Ruth Winder.
Editors from Outside, Women’s Running, Climbing, and Triathlete will host exclusive interview events with a range of Olympians, from June 14 through 17. The guests include Abdi Abdirahman, a four-time Olympic marathon runner and the oldest American runner to make the Olympic team, Melissa Stockwell, an Iraq War veteran and world-champion paratriathlete competing in the Tokyo Paralympic Games, and professional sport climbers Nathaniel Coleman and Kyra Condie, among others.
Running, biking, and triathlon fitness challenges based on routines from Abdirahman, mountain biker Kate Courtney, and triathlete Taylor Spivey will also be available to both members and non-members. All participants, upon completing the challenges, will be eligible to win prizes including recovery tools, wellness beverages, and wireless headphones. Registration is now open for all of the webinars and challenges, and is free for Outside+ members. Sign up for Outside+, then head to the Outside Games main page to reserve your spot.
