With filming of the final season of The Boys officially wrapped up, it means the farewell messages and goodbyes are underway. While the popular Amazon Prime Video show has taken fans on one of the wildest rides in recent memory, it’ll all come together in Season 5.
Over the first four seasons of The Boys, we’ve seen the various characters change in many ways while also showcasing more detailed backstories than anyone could have guessed in Season 1.
However, one name that has battled his own demons since Season 1 of The Boys, and is expected to have a few storylines tied up in the final season, is Billy Butcher.

Butcher, played by Karl Urban, and Hughie (Jack Quaid) were the two focal points out of the gate in Season 1. Now, Butcher’s disdain for Homelander is arguably the storyline fans are most intrigued by, as it’s anyone’s guess how it’ll play out in Season 5.
While Butcher has walked the line between good and evil throughout the series, he has remained a fan favorite. After wrapping up filming for Season 5 of The Boys, Urban sent a message to the fanbase to return the love.
“8 years. 5 seasons 40 eps. What an incredible, life changing ride,” Urban wrote. “…To all who watch [The Boys] thank you! We are so grateful for your support & we can’t wait for you to see the final season …it’s ‘FARKIN BIBLICAL!'”
