A What’s on Netflix release guide details all of the new content that has been confirmed to be arriving on Netflix in July 2026. It notes that on July 1, the new true crime series Worst Neighbor Ever will premiere. According to Moviefone’s profile of the upcoming show, its first season will consist of four episodes.
In addition to noting when the series will debut, What’s on Netflix also reports that Worst Neighbor Ever is the newest show from Cynthia Childs. While that name may not mean much to most, her work will almost certainly be very familiar to any true-crime enthusiasts. As is noted on her IMDb page, Childs is the executive producer behind several of Netflix’s previously successful true crime productions. She has served in that role on Worst Roommate Ever, The People vs. Michael Jackson, Worst Ex Ever, and a high-profile series about BTK.
What Makes This New True Crime Series Sound So Terrifying
While watching most true crime content, it is very easy for viewers to distance themselves from the horrific events at their core. After all, they can subconsciously tell themselves that they would never put themselves in a situation like that. On the other hand, a show that is based on everyday people being menaced by a neighbor hits different because people typically have no control over who moves in next door.
By the time most people become adults, they have had the experience of living beside someone who drives them nuts. Whether it is the neighbor being too loud, picking fights over the smallest perceived slight, or something worse, having tension with the person who lives beside you is a feeling most know. Worse yet, people understand that in those uncomfortable situations, there is often little to nothing they can do to improve them aside from ignoring what is happening.
Having gone through experiences like that, it is easy to imagine what it would be like to have someone worthy of being featured on Worst Neighbor Ever move in beside you. The fact that anyone could have a dangerous neighbor like the ones the show will chronicle is exactly why the series is poised to be terrifying.
