Patrick Mahomes Breaks Silence After Home Burglary

News first broke yesterday that the homes of Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were burglarized back on Oct. 7. Now, more than a month after the scary incident, Mahomes addressed what happened and shared his honest feelings on the situation. 

The Chiefs quarterback told reporters Nov. 13 that it’s a “frustrating” and “disappointing” boat to be in. “I can’t get into too many of the details because the investigation is still ongoing. But obviously it’s something that you don’t want to happen to, really anybody, but obviously yourself,” he said, per NBC News. 

TMZ first reported the robberies Nov. 12 after obtaining police reports from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office. According to the documents, police were called to Mahomes’ Belton, Missouri estate at around midnight on Oct. 6. Robbers broke into Travis Kelce’s Leawood, Kansas mansion during the Chiefs game the following evening and reportedly made off with $20,000 in cash.

The Chiefs took the field at Arrowhead Stadium to play the New Orleans Saints that night on Oct. 7. Mahomes and Kelce were seemingly undeterred, however, as the reigning Super Bowl champs made easy work of the Saints. But just to be safe, they spent that night at a hotel in downtown Kansas City, per TMZ. 

While it was a troubling thing to experience, the Chiefs haven’t suffered even if Mahomes and Kelce have been shaken up; they’ve yet to lose a game so far this season. Their next game is Nov. 17 against the Buffalo Bills.
