An estimated 200 guests descended on Venice, Italy, this past weekend to attend the highly publicized—and loudly protested—wedding of Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez, with some of the world’s most famous faces on the guest list. While Rosie O’Donnell was not among them, that didn’t stop the comedian host from letting her not-too-kind feelings about the nuptials be known.
As Variety reports, O’Donnell took to Instagram on Monday to take aim at Bezos and Sánchez—complete with side-by-side photos of the blushing bride, which appear to show her before and after a number of alleged plastic surgeries (Sánchez has never confirmed this)—as well as their A-list roster of attendees.

Written in what appeared to be a poem-like format, O’Donell claimed that the Bezos wedding “turned my stomach.” She continued:
“Seeing all these billionaires
Gathering in the gross excess of it all
The show of it.”
The former talk show host then questioned by talk show queen Oprah Winfrey would be among the invited guests, and why she could accept the invitation.
“Is Oprah friends with Jeff Bezos?,” O’Donnell wondered. “Really—how is that possible? He treats his employees with disdain. By any metric he is not a nice man, and his fake fem bot wife. Who looks like that” Why would he choose her after the salt of the earth MacKenzie [Scott]?”
O’Donnell concluded her post by suggesting that Bezos had clearly “Sold his soul” and that “The devil is smiling at all his conquests.” She then told her fans to visit her Substack to read more.
On Substack, she had written a post titled “Jeffs [sic] Wedding,” which began in the same way as her Instagram post, but then turned her ire to the Trump administration. O’Donnell, who fled the U.S. following Trump’s re-election, now makes her home in Ireland, where she was watching the NYC Pride parade and wondering “When being gay [will be] outlawed in America.”
O’Donnell was not the only celebrity to throw shade in the Bezos’ direction.
Former CBS Evening News and Today anchor Katie Couric replied to Vogue sharing a surprise new cover of Sánchez in her wedding dress just as the couple said their “I do”s with a not-so-kind comment: “Welcome to the eighties—when big hair and conspicuous consumption ruled. Apparently tacky is back.”
