Rainy weather can be particularly hard to dress for because it’s not as simple as bundling up when it’s cold or shedding layers when it’s hot. That’s why when a product is called “All-Weather,” the weather in question is typically rain. That’s the case with Huckberry’s All-Weather duck boot, too. It’s 100% waterproof, making it ideal for heavy downpours and days when you’re just not sure if the forecast can be trusted.
Unlike heavy shearling boots or canvas espadrilles, a rain boot is not confined to just one season. Whether you’re up against warm spring rains or cold winter ones, a sturdy rain boot is a closet essential, year-round. And now, Huckberry’s All-Weather boot is on sale for $94, half off the $188 list price.
All-Weather Waterproof Duckboot, $94 (was $188) at Huckberry
The distinctive duck boot silhouette utilizes a rubber vamp and a leather shaft, combining the water resistance of a rubber boot with the comfort and breathability of a leather boot. The definitive version is L.L. Bean’s Bean boot, but many designers have put their own spin on the style.
Huckberry’s take is more primed to tackle varied terrain, thanks to the grippy tread of the rubber outsole. The boot uses a Vibram outsole, considered the standard for grippy, durable soles. The white midsole gives the boot a sneaker-inspired look, making for a more casual style compared to Bean boots. The waterproof leather upper features a breathable membrane, allowing moisture to escape. That keeps the shoes comfortable (and less sweaty).
The shoes also feature brass speed hooks to quickly lace them up, while the pull tab at the heel assists in slipping the shoes on and off. The cushioned insole and EVA midsole add to the comfort of the boots. According to Huckberry and customer reviews, the boots run large, and the brand recommends going down a half size from your usual sneaker size.
The grippy outsole earned praise from Huckberry shoppers, with one writing that the boots “provide a lot of traction in wet weather.” Shoppers also appreciated that the boots lived up to the “all” part of the All-Weather name. One wrote that “snow is no problem at all, and the traction is actually good.” Another raved, “Been getting snowed on and flooded in the PNW, and this shoe handles it all.”
The streamlined, sneaker-inspired styling was another selling point, with one shopper writing, “The sneaker bottom makes them less bulky and clumsy [than a] regular winter boot.” Another appreciated that it “really does feel like a sneaker.”
Three colors are available, including tan/black, forest night/black, and tan/brown. Sizes of this Huckberry All-Weather boot are moving quickly in every color, though, so you’ll want to act fast.
