Walmart’s in-house Athletic Works brand flies under the radar for many shoppers, but it sure moves a lot of units, and double-take deals like this are a big reason why. Long-sleeved training tees from name-brand athletic labels normally start at $30 and start pushing a hundred when you get to brands like Lululemon, but Athletic Works’ lightweight take on the style is down to as low as $5 right now. 

Normally priced at $13, the Athletic Works Jersey Long-Sleeved Tee is now just $5. This sale is only for the Chili Pepper Space Dye color. Even at full price, which is what the rest of the colors are marked at, it’s still a very reasonable price to pay for one of these, comparatively.

Even though this is made entirely of polyester, the jersey knit construction enhances the already breathable and moisture-wicking properties and adds some durability. The classic fit gives you enough room through the chest and arms without feeling boxy, and you even get some thumbholes around the cuffs. It won’t last for years, but it’s a solid beater you can work out in without worrying about keeping it in pristine condition.

The $5 is considerably lower than what you’d have to pay for a comparable long-sleeved training tee at a big-box sporting goods store, where essentially the same specs (mostly polyester, crewneck design, lightweight) would run you something like $20. Additionally, there’s no extra shipping cost beyond the usual sub-$35 cart minimum of $7.

The lightweight construction is obviously a way to keep prices low, but it also makes the shirt a great summer pick. “The shirt is very thin, which I expected and liked,” one shopper said. “I wear these long-sleeve shirts in the summer so I don’t get a sunburn, but it doesn’t make me overheat.”

It’s worth noting that sizing is a bit off, and a handful of reviewers wrote that they run at least a size too small. So if you’re planning on grabbing one of these tees, you should consider going a size up from your normal choice.
