I’m highlighting our favorite picks from Ooni’s Memorial Day savings event and sharing some early impressions of the Volt 12.

Our top pick: Ooni Karu 16 Multi-Fuel Pizza Oven ($639.20, originally $799.99 at Ooni)

The Karu 16 has enough space to handle cooking pizzas at up to 16-inches and is powerful enough to reach a max temperature of 950 degrees in as little as 15 minutes. That translates to cooking a pizza in about 90 seconds. It comes with everything you need to heat it via wood or charcoal, but if you don’t want to manage your heat source, pick up the Gas Burner for Karu 16 to heat it via propane. You’ll also want to add the Pizza Door for Karu 16 to your cart at checkout to help keep the heat in when making your pizza.

The Ooni Stack is also marked down 30%. The Stack consists of three glass bowls that you can place atop one another. Inside the bowls, you can have individual pizza dough balls, sauce or other ingredients.

First Look at the Electric—and Indoor—Ooni Volt 12

I’ve used the Volt 12 on two different occasions now. On the first outing, I made some Neapolitan-style pizzas; a style I’ve made many times over the last two years, cooking in the propane-powered Ooni Koda 16 ($479.20, originally $599). The second time, I made a couple of pan pizzas.

And thus far, I can’t tell you how impressed I am with the ease of use, its ability to reach high temps with ease and reheat itself between each cook and its overall versatility.

The front-facing dials for creating a timer, setting the cook temp and adjusting where the Volt 12 provides the most heat — on the top or bottom of the inside of the unit — are intuitive to use. Just a quick twist or turn, and you’re set.

It takes about 20 minutes to heat up to the full 850-degree, after which you’re ready to start baking your pizza. After launching the pizza and closing the glass door, you get treated to a beautiful view like this one:

I still have a few more pies to make before passing final judgment, but I can already say if you’re looking for an electric pizza oven that’s incredibly convenient, the Ooni Volt 12 looks like it’ll be the one to get.
